The Independent National Electoral Commission will deploy 36, 335 permanent and ad hoc staff for the conduct of the Federal Capital Territory chairmanship and area council elections and the Rivers State court-ordered election reruns both scheduled for Saturday, March 19, 2016.
For the FCT chairmanship and area council elections, the commission said that it would deploy 9,933 staff, while for the Rivers State election reruns, INEC would deploy a total of 26,402 staff.
The commission stated this in its bulletin, which was made available to journalists in Abuja, on Wednesday.
It added that the FCT Area Council, with a total of 1,020,799 registered voters in six area councils, would be manned by 6,624 Assistant Presiding Officers; 9,375 Presiding Officers; 62 Supervising Presiding Officers; 62 Collation Officers; and six Returning Officers with 428 Reserves.
It added that the Rivers State election reruns, which have three senatorial constituencies, 12 federal constituencies and 22 state House of Assembly constituencies, would be manned by 17,673 Assistant Presiding Officers; 24,573 Presiding Officers; 444 Supervising Presiding Officers; 341 Collation Officers; 37 Returning Officers and 1,007 Reserves.
