Cult members stab man to death in Ilorin

Three suspected cult members, said to be in their late 20s, have allegedly killed one Abdulrahman Kayode at a residence in the Muyideen Kulende area of Ilorin, Kwara State.
It was learnt that the gang had trailed a lady, Murisade Adebanji, to the building over a disagreement between them.
PUNCH Metro gathered that the cutlass-wielding bandits pounced on Kayode, when he cautioned them to stop harassing their target who was sitting beside him.
Our correspondent was told that the perceived intrusion did not go down well with the assailants as they severally stabbed the deceased until he gave up the ghost at about 10.30pm on March 13. Adebanji reportedly panicked and fled the scene.
It was learnt that two members of the gang, Abdulazeez Asaju, a student, and Sodiq Olabanji, were arrested after Adebanji’s sister, Grace, reported the incident at the Police Division E, Kulende.
According to the police, the suspects are members of Alora confraternity. A locally-made pistol with live cartridges, a knife and an axe were said to have been recovered from the duo.
The suspects were charged with criminal conspiracy and homicide by the police when they appeared before the Ilorin Magistrates’ Courts.
The charges read in part, “That you, Abdulazeez Asaju and Sodiq Olabanji, on March 3, 2015, at about 10.30pm, based on information received at the Division E, Kulende from one Grace Olabanji of the Sango area, Ilorin, that some miscreants came to Green House along Muyideen-Kulende and harassed Murisade Adebanji, who ran away in fear.
“That you, and other members, now at large, criminally conspired and turned violence against Abdulrahman Kayode and stabbed him to death.
“That you are members of Alora cult and when search was conducted on you, one locally-made pistol with live cartridges, one knife and a battle axe, which was used in committing the crime, were recovered from you and thereby committed offences contrary to sections 97 and 224 of Penal Code.”
The presiding magistrate, Mr. Shuaib Saliu, did not take the defendants’ plea as he ordered that they be remanded in custody pending the the Directorate of Public Prosecutions’ advise. Culled

INEC warns! "Only the commission has power to announce election results"

Independent National Electoral Commission has warned people announcing results on social media that its an offence and anyone doing that would be prosecuted.
I find it ridiculous when people, especially on social media platforms like Twitter and Facebook announcing unconfirmed results....
Only INEC has the power to announce election results...

Underaged voter: This is how desperate Nigerian politicians are!

The photo above is that of an under-aged voter getting accredited to vote in yesterday's election. This shows the level of desperation on the part of Nigerian politicians in connivance with INEC officials in that particular polling unit and perhaps several other polling stations across Nigeria.
Whatever party is behind this; its absolutely wrong and should be condemned!
According to information, this pic was taken at a polling centre in Fulani market PU Abbare A Ward, Lau Lau Local Government Area, Taraba State.

Baby with two horns born in Osun

The atmosphere in the maternity centre was serene. There was nothing suggesting the occurrence which took the reporter there. Nurses on duty were courteous but grew cautious and suspicious when it was obvious the reporter was not a patient. Why is he here?
The birth of a new born baby would normally elicit joy and excitement in people. It is more so when the mother has been longing for it without results for years.   But, the reverse was the case in a maternity centre (name withheld) situated at Ifosan area of Ilesa, in Osun State where a woman recently gave birth to a baby with two horns on its head.
A tip had given Saturday Tribune photos of the strange baby, the arrival of which caused fear and trepidation among the nurses and the proprietress of the maternity centre. The tip also described the hospital and the geography of its area of operation.
The description was vivid and accurate enough for  Saturday Tribune to locate the health centre without much difficulty. Here is the maternity centre where the baby with two horns was born. Then, there was a thick wall of silence. Nurses on duty would neither deny nor confirm the development. The reporter was tossed up and down and finally landed before the proprietress of the centre. She would not talk unless her identity and that of her hospital were protected. The reporter gave his words.
“It is true the baby was born,” she said, but added that the horror of the event compelled her to instruct her staff to keep sealed lips over the development, with a view to warding off public attention to the centre over the scary baby.
Speaking with Saturday Tribune during the visit on Thursday, the proprietress, (she is called matron by her staff) said  the woman who gave birth to this deformed baby was “about 25 years old and she has been without a child for three years.”

She explained that “this woman lives in one of the farm settlements on the outskirt of Ilesa. She registered for antenatal service here. So, when she wanted to put to bed, her relatives rushed her here to deliver the baby.
“But we were shocked to the marrow when she eventually delivered the baby with two horns on the head after going into labour for some hours. By the time she was delivered of the baby, it was already dead and we had to separate it from the placenta.
“I have never seen such a terrible creature in my life. So, we helped to pack the dead baby and the placenta and handed them over to them before they left our premises. It was indeed a fearful development and we were saddened about it.
“This is not something we can celebrate. So, I ordered by nurses and other attendants to keep their mouth shut over the incident. But, I am very surprised how you people got to know about it and came here to inquire about it. I do not want anyone to make something unnecessary out of this or create problems for us here,” she stated.
She would not disclose the whereabouts of the woman who delivered the baby.  “I cannot give you any details about her. Like I told you, she lives in one of the farm settlements on the outskirts of Ilesa and I don’t really know the area and I want you to leave me out of this matter,” she added.
The woman who froze when she was shown the photographs of the baby, however, confirmed its genuineness but asked how Saturday Tribune got them. A staff  member of the clinic also showed Saturday Tribune her own photos of the baby taken with her phone.
All efforts to locate the exact location of the baby’s mother and her identity were not successful.

Man arrested for using monkeys, snakes for robbery

The police in Lagos State have arrested a 27-year-old robbery suspect, Mohammed Nafiu, who specialised in using monkeys and snakes to dispossess people of their money and valuables.
One of the monkeys was also arrested and is presently in police custody.
Nafiu told the police that apart from the conventional tool (gun) used by most robbers, the sight of a snake or monkey unsettles and scares people. He said he was able to dispossess his victims of their valuables when confronted with these animals, especially fully grown ones.
The Kano State-born Nafiu, and his accomplice, Nura, who is still at large, said they initiated this method of robbery operation some years ago.
“We trained the animals to obey our instructions. On a single command, the animals attack whoever we want to rob and we are able to take whatever valuable they have on them, especially money,” Nafiu said.
Nafiu, who is married with three children, was a farmer and native drug vendor until he came to Lagos about 10 years ago.
“I learnt there were many Hausa people in Lagos, so I decided to come with my monkey which I had been using for monkey shows in Kano,” he said.
A police source said on the day Nafiu was arrested, he and his accomplice had two monkeys in their Nissan Primera and were trailing a man who had just come out of a popular bank in Ogba area of the state. The man was said to be holding a nylon bag containing money.
On sighting their next victim, they quickly went after him, unleashed their two monkeys on him and dispossessed him of N230,000 cash.
Nafiu said, “When we attacked the man, he was overcome with fear, so we collected the money from him. As we were about leaving, having realised what was happening, people started throwing stones and several objects at us. Nobody could move near because they were also afraid of the monkey. Only Nura could escape. When the stoning became too severe, I could not escape and eventually, police came and arrested me and my monkey.”
He said he could have released the monkey to protect himself, but he was afraid that the monkey would injure a lot of people. “I had to endure the attack because of this. I felt safer in the hands of the police than being stoned to death right there,” he added.
He explained that while Nura was escaping with the money, the victim was chasing him, but that in order to stop the man, he took part of the money and threw back the remaining at him so he could get busy picking the few naira notes while he escaped.
Nafiu admitted that he had been using the monkey to rob for some years and that it had injured a lot of people including himself. He showed scratches on his hands which he said were from the animal’s teeth and nails.
“I have made a lot of money using this strategy but this N230,000 was the highest amount I ever got from a single operation. And now I regret what I have done. If I can be set free, I won’t do such again,” the suspect said.
But a police source pointed out that another person had reported to the police that the same gang (Nafiu and Nura) once attacked him with a “big” snake and dispossessed him of some money.
“Nafiu admitted that they had two snakes and two baboons, which they used to scare and harass their victims. One of the monkeys has been arrested and we are still trailing the other suspect and the other animals,” the source said.
As of the time of filing this report, Police Public Relations Officer, Lagos State Command, Mr. Kenneth Nwosu, had yet to reply the message our correspondent sent to him. Culled

'No blacks' Chinese restaurant shut down in Kenya

Hmm.. even in motherland Africa, some racist people still have the nerves to operate under such policies? How can one possible explain a "NO black" Chinese restaurant in Kenya?... Read the full details below:

A Chinese restaurant in the Kenyan capital Nairobi has been shut down and its owners summoned by authorities after it emerged it was barring black patrons, reports said Wednesday.
The restaurant fell into the spotlight of city authorities after furious residents took to social media to denounce an apparently racist policy of not allowing African patrons to eat there after 5pm.
The owners of the restaurant said the measure had been put in place following a robbery in 2013, and have apologised for causing any offence, the Daily Nation reported.
But it said the Chongquing Chinese restaurant, situated in Nairobi's bustling commercial and residential district of Kilimani, had been shut down anyway for not having the proper licences.
"We have established that the restaurant did not have the licences and I have have ordered it closed until the management complies," Nairobi governor Evans Kidero was quoted as saying.
He also said that "all business and service providers must ensure that all customers and clients are treated with respect and dignity, irrespective of race colour, sex, tribe and religion," the Standard newspaper quoted him as saying.
Reports said the restaurant's Chinese owners and managers had also been summoned by Kenya's immigration authorities.
A city official however told the Star newspaper that the incident "has nothing to do with the friendship and diplomatic relations Kenya enjoys with China," a major investor in east Africa's biggest economy. Culled

Why should Buhari, Tinubu be scared of EFCC if they are clean? – Fani- Kayode

Peoples Democratic Party, PDP Presidential Campaign Organization, PDPPCO has advised the Presidential Candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, General Muhammadu Buhari, retd and the APC national leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu not to be scared of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.
According to PDP, defeat was staring the APC in the face and they were having sleepless nights, adding,” That is what has informed all this rubbish that they keep peddling out on a daily basis.”
In a statement yesterday night by the director of Media and Publicity of the PDP Presidential Campaign Organisation, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode while reacting to the claim by the APC that the Federal Government plans to use the EFCC to arrest Senator Bola Tinubu on trumped up charges, described the claim as false.
According to Fani-Kayode, “We have said it before and we shall say it again: the APC are not only delusional but they are suffering from chronic paranoia. Why should Tinubu be scared of arrest if he has done nothing wrong. Why should Buhari be scared of EFCC if he is clean?
“They should stop raising all these false alarms and they should just grow up.
“We are far too busy and focused on winning an election than on planning any witch hunt. Those that have a case to answer know who they are and eventually they will be made to answer that case. Whether it be for murder, theft or graft they will surely answer that case sooner than later. God will see to that.
“The radio station that they set up to throw Nigeria into chaos woth after they lose the election has been exposed and we are waiting for them to begin their incitement. When that happens every single one of them will be arrested, rounded up and made to face the full wrath of the law.
“Defeat is staring them in the face and they are having sleepless nights. That is what has informed all this rubbish that they keep peddling out on a daily basis.
“Let them be clear about one thing: no matter what they say or do on March 28th this matter will be settled once and for all and they shall be utterly humiliated at the polls.
“When that happens and when the President gets a fresh and new mandate then we will revisit all the issues and very serious allegations that have been made against Buhari, Tinubu, Saraki, Amaechi, Shettima and all the other APC leaders.
“They should prepare for the very worse because nothing but humiliation, defeat, shame and dark days lie ahead of them .” Culled

Na wa oo... 32-years-old man, rapes 10-year-old niece in Lagos

Each day we're faced with all kinds of evil act from "supposedly" human being... According to information the Lagos State Criminal Investigation Department, SCID, Yaba, is currently investigating the defilement of a 10-year-old girl who was allegedly raped by her uncle in Lagos State.
Vanguard gathered that the 32-year-old suspect, identified as Uwem Femi Asuquo, allegedly took the victim (names withheld) to where he lived along Lagos-Abeokuta road, to help ease the burden on her family after his brother died in 2012.
Unknown to the victim’s mother, Iya Tope, that while her brother-in-law was taking care of her daughter between 2012/2013, he was allegedly having carnal knowledge of the little girl. As fate would have it, the victim began to live with her grandmother in Okunola area in Egbeda.
It was gathered that on that fateful day the suspect went to the victim’s house only to discover that his niece was now living with her grandmother. Immediately, he went to the house where his niece was living with her grandmother and took her to the mosque where he allegedly had sex with her inside the mosque.
Vanguard learned that after the incident, the victim had difficulty walking as she had sustained injuries in her private part as a result of the rape. The difficulty with which she worked made a female neighbour suspicious. Consequently, she called on the victim’s mother to check what was wrong with her child.
However, trouble started after the victim confessed to the mother that her uncle, Femi, took her from grandma’s house to the mosque where he had carnal knowledge of her. She further revealed that Femi had been having sex with her throughout her stay in his place.
Immediately, the mother reported the case to Gowon Divisional Police Station and the suspect was arrested.

Two killed as hoodlums clash over N1m gift in Mushin

Two people have been killed, while at least 14 others injured after some hoodlums went on the rampage in the Idi Oro, Mushin area of Lagos State.
A source told PUNCH Metro the fight started on Wednesday after a man gave N1m to the hoodlums for the protection of a piece of land he newly acquired in the area.
He said the sharing of the money brewed bad blood among the groups, as they resorted to shooting and unleashing mayhem on one another.
Our correspondents learnt that the first victim, identified simply as Eniba, was shot dead on Wednesday, while another yet-to-be-identified person was killed on Saturday.
He said, “The fight started on Wednesday night. A man who wants to build a structure in a site formerly occupied by a filling station gave N1m to the boys. He said the money was for the protection of the land.
“They did not agree on the sharing formula and that was how they started fighting. The gun battle was intense and nobody could come out in the area.
“As of Saturday, two people have been killed and many people injured.”
Our correspondent was told that the fight was between gangs from Matuwo Street, who are called Oyindamola boys, and those of Olabinjo and Idi Oro streets.
A resident, who pleaded anonymity, said policemen from the Alakara division tried in vain to curtail the fight.
He said, “The boys were fighting in front of the filling station over money given them to protect the land.
“The police tried to curtail them, but they killed one person on Wednesday. Fourteen people were injured. They are factions and have refused to come to agreeable terms.”
The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Kenneth Nwosu, confirmed that there was a skirmish in the area.
He added that no life was reported lost in the incident.
He said, “Two suspects have been arrested in connection with the skirmish. Normalcy has since been restored to the area. Nobody was killed.”

Oh God! Woman stabs lover to death over feeding allowance in Ajegunle (Graphic)

Tragedy struck in the Ajegunle, Apapa area of Lagos State, after a 20-year-old woman, Gift Wahab, stabbed her lover, Ebi Amade, 28, to death.
PUNCH Metro learnt that the incident occurred at the couple’s residence on Fasasi Street, Ajegunle, Apapa, on Thursday, March 19.
Our correspondents gathered that the suspect, Wahab, who hailed from Uromi, Edo State, had been living with Ebi since 2013, after she dropped out of secondary school. Ebi hailed from Bayelsa State.
The two reportedly had a kid in 2014, who died in December after a brief sickness.
It was learnt that the couple had gone on an outing on Thursday when an argument ensued in the afternoon over feeding money.
Wahab, a hairdresser, was said to have stabbed the 28-year-old to death after they got home.
Policemen from the Layeni division were alerted by neighbours and she was subsequently arrested.
Speaking with PUNCH Metro, the suspect said she did not intend to kill her lover, adding that she acted in anger.
She said, “We have been together since 2013. My father died and I dropped out of school when I was in SSS 3, and that was when we started dating.
“On Thursday, we went out for an event. As we were returning home, I said he should hand me the key to the house and my feeding allowance, but he said no. He explained that he had no money for our feeding.
“Then he started to abuse me. I told him I was going home, and that he should not bother about the money again. That was how he punched me in the face and attacked me while we were still on the road.
“I left him and went to look for a hammer, which I used to break the door. That night, when he came in, I was still angry. I got a knife which I used to stab him. I didn’t intend to kill him. I was just annoyed over what happened in the afternoon.”
It was gathered that neither the victim’s relatives nor the suspect’s had learnt about the incident.
However, the corpse of the victim had been deposited in a mortuary in the area.
A police source revealed that Ebi was stabbed to death on the right side of the neck.
He added that the police had also recovered the knife used to commit the crime.
He said, “The couple met each other at a night club in 2013 and had been dating since then. They were not legally married. They went out on Thursday and probably got drunk in the process. When they returned, there was an argument and a fight began.
“The suspect ran to the kitchen and grabbed a knife. She stabbed her lover in the right side of the neck, and he was rushed to a hospital, where he died.”

The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Kenneth Nwosu, confirmed the incident, adding that the matter had been transferred to the State Department of Criminal Investigations for further investigation.

Rob Kardashian has social anxiety & not at his happiest place -- Khloe Kardashian

Khloe Kardashian is finally telling the real story behind Rob Kardashian's social media disappearance.
While not a day goes by that one of the Kardashian/Jenner family members doesn't pop up on a red carpet or post a salacious photo on Instagram, Rob has been MIA from the limelight ever since he fled from sister Kim Kardashian's wedding last year.
"I just feel, especially over the last year, Rob has become very introverted and has a kind of social anxiety," Khloe revealed to Wonderwall.com before hosting a party at 1 OAK in Las Vegas on Friday night. "He's definitely not at his happiest place that he once was, and I know he can get to that happy place and he will."
Many chalked Rob's troubles up to his weight ... and, while Khloe doesn't get into those kind of specifics, she says she's still got his back.
"We all kind of get to a place where you don't know where to go in life or whatever, so I think it's important for him to know that he always has people to lean on and it's not unnatural for people to not know even where to begin. It's a growing process," she says. "I will always be his No. 1 supporter."
And Rob's #1 Supporter looked amazing at the bash ... stepping out in a white dress that showed off all of her curves. Check it out below!
