United States of America secretary of state, John Kerry disclosed this on Friday while speaking to an audience in Davos.
Marie Harf, state department spokesperson, also confirmed that he would be in Nigeria on Sunday to meet with President Goodluck Jonathan. According Kerry, “Violent extremism has claimed violence at every corner of the globe and Muslim lives most of all,”
He was also quoted as saying “Unless we direct our energies in the right direction, we may very well fuel the very fires we want to put out. There is no room for sectarian division. There is no room for anti-Semitism or Islamophobia. “In the weeks to come, we have to strengthen our efforts in Somalia, intensify our efforts to end violence in Nigeria; that’s why I’m going there in a couple of days.”
