Meet Chief James G. Emarievbe: President, Nigerian in Diaspora Organisation Malaysia (NIDOMY)

Chief James G. Emarievbe is a very distinguished elder statesman; a traditional chief from Delta State, Nigeria. A retired Shell Petroleum worker and presently working as a consultant for over 7 years with Petronas Petroleum, the number one oil and gas firm in Malaysia with global subsidiaries.

Chief has a big heart for charity right from his days in Nigerian. That charity in him still continued here in Malaysia as he has been a very noticeable personality through his strong presence in most NGOs. As a matter of fact, Chief James Emarievbe is the current President (2013/2014) of Rotary Club of Gombak Kuala Lumpur (District 3300). Aside working effortlessly in his capacity as the Rotary President, he is also involved in various aid activities to other NGOs.

As we all know Nigerians in the diaspora needed a positive voice and actions that could help in shaping our beloved country NIGERIA, which is the more reason former president Olusegun Obasanjo initiated the idea of the need for Nigerians in Diaspora Organisation which is present in many countries including Malaysia.

According to NIDOMY President, Chief James, NIDOMY has been very present to resolve issues affecting Nigerians in Malaysia. NIDOMY has successfully organised the best Nigerian independent day celebration which witness the presence of not only Nigerians but delegates from other nations and serving Malaysian government officials.

NIDOMY vision is clear, its goals are ensuring that at the end of the day Nigerians live a comfortable life through the establishment of legitimate business which NIDOMY has been in strong consultations with government and business organisations in Malaysia and Nigeria. According to Chief James, NIDOMY is working really hard with appropriate authorities to establish a joint Malaysian-Nigerian trade commission that will encourage and boost business transactions between both countries. He further stated that establishing a joint commission will create jobs for Nigerian graduates in Malaysia

Chief James shared his disappointments on the negative image Nigerians has been portrayed in Malaysia which he thinks has overshadowed over 99% of credible Nigerians in Malaysia. He reiterated that NIDOMY is working hard according to its capacity to address such through it's vision of job creation via Malaysian-Nigerian joint trade commission which NIDOMY is presently in high consultation with various stakeholders.

Chief James G. Emarievbe as President of Nigerians in Diaspora Organisation Malaysia (NIDOMY) has helped to initiate and launch various laudable schemes that will improve the life and unity among Nigerians in Malaysia. NIDOMY have helped to launch a comprehensive health scheme that will effectively cover all Nigerians in Malaysia, students and workers alike. NIDOMY have also helped to initiate different Nigerian ethnics in Malaysia to form community based organisation in order to foster closeness and brotherliness even within (Malaysia) diaspora.

Chief James G. Emarievbe has advise for the youths which he opined are the leaders of tomorrow. According to Chief, "Education is very important and the key to success. Be humble obey all laws and respect yourself with that you can respect others. Try to be humane and be charitable because its very nice. Don't be a betrayal or snitch on someone, remember Karma and always be yourself." 
Chief also thinks its a good idea for Nigerians in Malaysia to become members of community organisations in Malaysia as it helps. Last advise from Chief James and this goes to the young bachelors/spinsters, "Marry early."

I had a nice time with Chief James G. Emarievbe during the interview in his warm and ever welcoming residence.
