Mile 1 Market Fire (Update)
News are now filtering in as per the causes and casualties in the early morning fire that burnt down the biggest market in Port-Harcourt (Mile 1 market).
According to an eyewitness, the fire was believed to have started at about 1am Nigerian time and lasted for about 4-5 hours... According to the eyewitness the fire service men came very late after the fire has ravaged traders goods.
The eyewitness also confirmed that many people where injured and a total of five people lost their life as a result of the fire... two were children of five and seven years old while three others were adults who were knocked down by vehicle plying the market road as they rush down to the flaming market to see if they can pick out what remains of their wares.
According to report, their are still unconfirmed news as per what is cause was... but gists around the market are speculating that it was either caused by an electric iron or electric heater.
It's such a sad moment for those that lost their family members in these ugly incident... and also a huge lose for those that lost goods worth millions, especially in this festive season.
May God be their strength... Amen
