Chris Oyakhilome’s TV Shut Over Tax Evasion

Pastor Chris Oyakhilome might be facing some financial problems or what can be said of the latest developments surrounding his TV station? Reports are that, Officials of the Lagos Internal Revenue Service, LIRS, have shut down Infinity Television owned by flamboyant preacher, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, for owing the state government several millions.
This is coming on the heels of Tuesday’s protest by workers of the TV station over non payment of 10 months salaries and non-remittance of their Pay As You Earn, PAYE, tax to the appropriate authorities.
Ailing Infinity TV, located on 16, Moyibat Oyefusi Street, Omole Phase 1, is a Direct To Home, DTH cable TV owned by Pastor Oyakilome of Christ Embassy and was incorporated in 2009.
As members of staff of the company were protesting non-payment of salaries on Tuesday, officials of the LIRS stormed the premises of the company, shut it down and placed a notice on the gate after locking it with padlock.
Some of the workers who spoke with PM NEWS but asked not to be mentioned said they were ready to protest to Christ Embassy Church on Oregun Road at the Cross Over Night on 31 December, 2014 to demand for the payment of their entitlements since the management of the company is planning to lay them off without paying the arrears of their salaries. “Prior to this time, the staff had been receiving half salaries (for over a year) and by June 2014 salaries have not been paid to date. To worsen the case, the staff were barred from entering the office premises by the Chief Operating Officer, Mr Henry Kifordu.
“All efforts by the staff to meet with the management proved abortive. Staff taxes and pensions have been deducted for years and were never remitted to appropriate authorities. Infinity TV was finally locked up for tax evasion on 23 December, 2014,” a staff of the company told P.M.NEWS.
The aggrieved workers said they were left with no other option than to take to the streets to fight for their rights and have decided to storm Christ Embassy’s 31 December night global service to make their grievances known to Oyakhilome, whom, they believed, may not be aware of the happenings in the company.

ISIS is turning Christian Churches into torture chambers

Islamic State militants are turning Christian churches into torture chambers where they force attendees to convert to Islam, it has been reported.
The fanatics are also said to be stripping the former places of worship of ancient relics, which they are smuggling to Western collectors to help fund their terrorist activity.
Christians were reportedly being held captive in make-shift torture chambers set up in raided churches in Qaraqosh, Iraq.
An expert told the Jerusalem Post that the terror organisation's goal was to 'wipe out Christianity.'
'This is why they are crucifying Christians — which includes children — destroying churches and selling artifacts,' he told the newspaper.
'The reality is, this group will stop at practically nothing to raise funds for its terrorist mission.'
Jihadists have pocketed around £23million from the sale of stolen artefacts in Nabaq, Syria, according to the Christian Post.
It was not known what relics had been stolen during the raid on churches.
The news comes as it has been revealed that militants captured a Jordanian pilot after his warplane crashed while conducting airstrikes over Syria. Culled

Where Snakes are killed to produce luxury handbags, shoes etc

So i came through this story and thought to share it will you all... A factory in a small Javanese town, the bloody carcasses of thousands of dead snakes lie piled on the floor.

It is here, in Indonesia's Kapetakan village, snakes are slaughtered to fuel the West's booming appetite for snake skin handbags and shoes.
These incredible photos show the vast quantity of snakes that go through its doors, with lengths of skins totalling hundreds of metres sold to bag factories in the West and Central Java provinces on a monthly basis.
There are a variety of ways for snakes to be killed and skinned, although one method has been cited by many as exceptionally cruel and outdated.
The snake is stunned with a blow to the head from the back of a machete and a hose pipe expertly forced between its jaws.
Next, the water is turned on and the reptile fills up - swelling like a balloon. It will be left like that for ten minutes or so, a leather cord tied around its neck to prevent the liquid escaping.
Then its head is impaled on a meat hook, a couple of quick incisions follow, and the now-loosened skin peeled off with a series of brutal tugs - much like a rubber glove from a hand.

81 dead, 725 injured in Plateau road accidents -FRSC

According Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) briefing in Jos on Wednesday, a total of 128 deaths were so far recorded in 325 vehicular accidents in Plateau between January to December 2014
Mr Sunday Maku, the sector commander of the corps in Plateau, who disclosed this to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), said 725 people were injured in the accidents.
Maku attributed the rate of road carnage in the state to reckless driving, speeding, overloading and wrong overtaking by drivers, adding that FRSC was doing its best to arrest the situation.
He explained that the number of carnage recorded was lower than that of 2013, and attributed the drastic reduction to the promptness of the officers and men of the corps
Maku said, “Last year, we recorded 325 road carnages, with 128 dead and 891 persons severely injured. We also recorded 229 serious cases and 28 minor cases during the year.
“But in 2014, we recorded 220 cases with 81 deaths and 725 persons injured.
“From the record, it is clear that 2014 is better than 2013, solely because our officers and men were on their toes, day and night to sensitise and ensure the safety of passengers.”
The commander expressed happiness that FRSC in Plateau and indeed most states in the country were able to meet up with the corps vision of reducing accidents on the road by 20 per cent in 2014.
Maku said FRSC would do more in 2015, especially within the Plateau command in curbing crashes on roads through intensive campaigns in churches and mosques. Culled

Senator urges Obama to host White House screening of ‘The Interview’

American audiences likely won’t be able to see “The Interview” anytime soon after Sony’s decision to pull the film from theaters last week over North Korea threat concerns, but congressional lawmakers may be the first to see the movie if Senator David Vitter letter to President Barack Obama is considered.
Senator David Vitter (R-Louisiana) has written President Barack Obama with the aim of getting the White House to screen the recently nixed comedy to prove the US “will not bend to the will of bad actors.”
“The policy of rewarding terrorists, authoritarianism and cruelty with concessions should not be the legacy we pursue. Therefore, I ask that you host a screening of comedy film ‘The Interview’ for members of Congress in the White House the week of January 5, to be followed by a serious discussion of the strong, substantive retaliatory measures we plan to take as a nation against cyber attacks,”  Vitter wrote
“North Korea can’t have any reason to think that bullying and intimidation will threaten American principles like freedom of speech,” Vitter said. “Bringing all Members of Congress to watch this movie together would send a strong, clear message that America will not be intimidated.” he said.

OMG... Indian woman raped by man who rescued her from suicide

The victim, who was found around a kilometre from the scene of the suicide attempt, says she was raped while lying unconscious on the shore.
Police reviewed security camera recordings from hotels and guesthouses in the area and noticed two men acting suspiciously at the time of the attack.
The two suspects, identified as crabcatchers S Raja, 35 and his relative K Vijaykumar, 32, from Pillaichavadi, Villupuram district, Tamil Nadu, were arrested the next day.
Senior superintendent of police V J Chandran c;laims they have confessed to raping the woman.
The family had been living in an ashram, a type of small monastery that are common across India, when they were evicted following a Supreme Court order.
India is fighting an endemic rape culture which first came to international attention brought in 2012 by the shocking case of a woman who died after being gang raped in New Delhi.
The country brought in tougher laws last year against sexual offenders after the fatal gang-rape of a student in New Delhi in December 2012, but they have failed to stem the tide of violence against women.
A survey published last week said 91 per cent of women also saw no improvements in safety despite a slew of measures rolled out in the aftermath of the attack including improved policing, women's helplines and fast-track courts as well as the new law.
The survey by the Hindustan Times newspaper of 2,557 women also found that 97 percent had been victims themselves of some kind of sexual harassment. Culled

UK University pays North Korean students £56,000 for hacking knowledge

A British university handed tens of thousands of pounds to North Korean students so they could learn about computer hacking in the UK.
Two students from the secretive state were given £28,000 bursaries by London's University of Westminster to study on a IT course which includes a module on computer security.
Details of their UK training emerged as Kim Jong-Un's regime ratcheted up the rhetoric in the wake of claims it hacked Sony because it disliked a film the company was due to release.
The two students are thought to be the children of powerful figures in the pariah state's ruling elite.
They came from the Pyongyang University of Science and Technology (PUST), a western-backed, all-male institution in North Korea's capital, where senior politicians and generals send their sons.
They were sent to Britain to study an MSc in post-graduate electronic, network and computer engineering.
As part of the deal, their flights, accommodation and course fees were covered by the university, which raised the money from the fees of other overseas students.
The course includes 'techniques to secure computer networks, and critically evaluates them in the light of a variety of types of attacks', The Telegraph reported.

A spokesman for Westminster University told the newspaper: 'The scholarship with PUST has been undertaken for a number of years, although we have not awarded any such scholarships to students in the current academic year.
'The scholarships are assessed on academic merit and entry into the UK is undertaken through the standard Home Office and Immigration processes.'
It comes after it emerged the UK government is funding places for more than 40 North Korean students to study media and the internet.
The Foreign Office, which is funding that scheme but has no part in the University of Westminster course, said: 'It is just one part of our critical engagement to try to improve the lives of those who live in North Korea.'
North Korea has poured resources into a sophisticated cyber-warfare wing of its military, which it calls 'Bureau 121'.
Defectors have said the Bureau is staffed by some of the most talented computer experts in the state and is part of an elite spy agency run by the army.
Jang Se-Yul, who studied at North Korea's military college for computer science before escaping to the south, said: 'For them, the strongest weapon is cyber. In North Korea, it's called the Secret War.
FBI officials have explicitly linked recent cyber-attack on Sony - which was about to release The Interview, a film about North Korea - to the country's regime.
North Korea hit back at the claims yesterday, saying in a statement: 'Nothing is a more serious miscalculation than guessing that just a single movie production company is the target of this counteraction.
'Our target is all the citadels of the US imperialists who earned the bitterest grudge of all Koreans.
'The army and people of the DPRK are fully ready to stand in confrontation with the US in all war spaces including cyber warfare space to blow up those citadels.' Culled

Underwear thief nabbed in China

Lol... This incident is really funny... read below:
China's most prolific underwear thief terrorised his neighbours in a one-man crime wave that was anything but brief ... it lasted more than a decade.
But the bra bandit of Yulin city, southeast China, has finally been snared after the ceiling of his apartment collapsed under the weight of his stash.
The bra bandit, named only as Tan, had hidden more than 2,000 pairs of pilfered pants and brassieres in the cavity above his bedroom in the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region's second-largest metropolis.
He had amassed the vast - and colourful - trove of lingerie by creeping into his neighbours' homes and snatching their smalls when they were at work.

Police said Tan, in his 30s, was able to gain unfettered access the flats in his apartment building thanks to a master key in his possession.

They did not say how he had obtained the skeleton key.
What his victims did not know was that their stolen underwear was right under their noses and in their neighbour's apartment all along.
As the stash grew, it soon became too heavy for the flimsy roof panels and they buckled under its considerable weight.
The police also report that Tang has stolen underwear from other apartment buildings, besides the one in which he lives, reported Shanghaiist.
The underwear thief has since confessed to his crimes, claiming he has had a mental illness since he was young boy, and said he didn't know when his obsession with stealing women's underwear started.

"I lost a big part of my life, because i was a workaholic" -- Nicki Minaj

Nicki Minaj is looking for love after a recent breakup, but she wants a man who sees the effort she puts into remaining a top rap diva.
“I want someone to appreciate how hard I work,” Minaj told music journalist Elliott Wilson during his live interview series CRWN at Le Poisson Rouge.
She has reportedly split with longtime boyfriend Safaree Samuels. The pint-sized rapper never publicly confirmed the breakup, but her new album, “The Pinkprint,” seems to detail her feelings and has been called a “badass breakup album” by critics.]
Minaj told Wilson:
‘“I lost a big part of my life, and one of the reasons was because I was a workaholic. I couldn’t focus on anyone else. Maybe they needed more attention, and I take care of my whole family. So if I’m gonna choose between working my ass off and giving you, one human being, all of my attention? You might get forgotten sometimes. Not because I don’t love you, but because I got the weight of the f - - king world on my shoulders.”’
Minaj last month released the single “Bed of Lies,” which some assumed was about Samuels.
