Only two years ago she was parading her breasts in front of the world's media after turning up topless to a Portugal team World Cup training session. 

Brazilian Miss Bumbum model Andressa Urach earned worldwide notoriety thanks to her scandalous antics, her frequent public nudity - and an alleged tryst with Real Madrid ace Cristiano Ronaldo. 

So perhaps it is not surprising that, among the 300 inmates gathered this morning inside a Sao Paulo women's prison, most seem aghast to know it is the same woman standing before them. 

Andressa weeps as, gripping a microphone, she tells the audience that, despite achieving the fame and fortune she had always craved, she always felt empty inside, and as much a prisoner as they are. 

And sobs are heard around the room as she describes the pain she had always kept hidden, how she was abused as a child, how her father rejected her at birth, was married aged 15, and the sordid years she spent selling her own body. 

If the model's humble confessions seem extraordinary coming from a woman once renowned for her arrogance, what happens next is almost impossible to imagine. 

Inviting forward any women who want prayer for 'deliverance from evil spirits', Andressa - who converted to Christianity after botched cosmetic surgery almost killed her - begins laying her hand on top of their heads.

Sharia Law: Indonesian woman caned in public for having sex outside marriage

Cowering on her knees after being whipped across the back, this Indonesian woman has just been caned in public for having sex outside marriage.

The young woman was brought to the public stage in Banda Aceh and forced down on to her knees by two guards.

 

A masked man then repeatedly canes her across the back as she clenches her fists and appears to bite her veil while receiving her punishment.

The woman can also been seen crying out in agony, and after the punishment is over, she has to be led away on a stretcher for treatment.

A public caning is just one of the punishments handed out to people breaking Sharia law in Banda Aceh, the only province in Indonesia, where it is still followed closely.

Sharia law is the legal system of Islam which is derived from both the Koran and the rulings of the religion's scholars.

It acts as a code that all Muslims are adhered to live to and include rules of prayers, fasting and donations to the poor and covers both public and private behaviour.

Pictures also show crowds gathering to watch another two men also receive the same punishment for having sex outside of marriage.

One man can be seen grimacing as the cane strikes his back while another tries to balance on crutches as he receives his punishment.

Islamic laws have been strengthened since the province struck a peace deal with the central government in 2005.

Last month, the local government banned Valentine's Day celebrations, including giving cards or chocolates, deeming it an 'unlawful act' under Sharia law.

Earlier this year, Banda Aceh also banned women from entertainment venues after 11pm unless they are accompanied by a husband or male family member.

In 2015, a district in Aceh enacted a bylaw requiring schools to teach boys and girls separately, and another banned women from straddling motorcycles when riding with a driver.

More than 90 per cent of Indonesians describe themselves as Muslim, but the vast majority practise a moderate form of the faith.

Offences are divided into two categories - hadd offences, which a serious crimes with set penalties and tazir crimes, where punishment is left to the discretion of a judge.

Apostasy, or leaving the faith, is also against Sharia law and can also be punishable by death.

Other offences against Sharia law include denying Mohammed, gambling, drinking alcohol and a woman talking to a man, who is not her husband or relative."

Tears spilled today as friends, family and strangers gathered in solidarity at Brussels' main square to hold vigils for loved ones lost in yesterday's terror attacks.

In heartbreaking images, a mother - known only as Sonia - held her two young children close as she wept for the victims at the city's Place de la Bourse.

Brussels remained defiant today as mourners broke out in a round of applause after the minute's silence held this morning at 12 noon local time.

Stoic Belgians gathered together in unity to support one another in the aftermath of yesterday's shocking attack on Zaventem Airport and a further bomb attack at Maelbeek Metro Station that left 34 dead and 200 injured.

On the Place de la Bourse, crammed with people and decked out with flags and flowers left by mourners, the crowd chanted: 'Long live Belgium', followed by 'Brussels above all'.

Buhari, Buratai will end up in jail for killing Biafra agitators – IPOB

The Indigenous People of Biafra, Ipob, a group agitating for the sovereign state of Biafra has boasted that at the end of the day, President Muhammadu Buhari and the Chief Army Staff, Lt.-Gen Tukur Yusuf Buratai will be jailed over several human rights abuses.

The group in a statement signed by its Spokespersons, Barrister Emma Nmezu and Dr. Clifford Chukwuemeka Iroanya also berated the Defence Headquarters and President Buhari for inaugurating a committee that is expected to look into the various complaints on human rights abuses, saying such was a waste of the nation’s resources.

The group said the same government and the military being accused of violating several rights cannot be investigating the same matter.

On Monday, the 21st of March 2016, the Nigerian Defence Headquarters represented by General Abayomi Olonisakin inaugurated what it called a 12-man committee on human rights. It is not clear if the Defence Headquarters is acting based on Section-5(1) CAP A20 L.F.N. 2004 or that General Olonisakin is trying to save the life and career of the never-retiring Lt.-Gen Tukur Yusuf Buratai who will end up at the prison yard, courtesy of the International Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague, just like his Commander-in-Chief, Retired Major General Muhammadu Buhari would soon go to jail as well in The Hague for human rights abuses and extra-judicial killings. During the inauguration of the so-called human rights committee, General Olonisakin noted that “each member of the committee was invited to look into the complaints of human rights abuses levelled against the military” and “urged the committee to expand their focus beyond the North East, to also include other areas of contention including the issues emanating from clashes with the Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN), Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), and Rivers State election rerun amongst others.”

General Olonisakin also stated that the Armed Forces of Nigeria is “always guided by global best practices, Rules of Engagement (ROE) for military operations other than war as well as Codes of Conduct for internal security operations.” On the other hand, he warned that the Armed Forces “would not sacrifice professionalism on the platter of lawlessness or extra-judicial conducts of anybody or groups.” The terms of reference of this committee include “collation and documentation of written complaints, as well as investigation of all the alleged rights violations, interface with human rights bodies, recommend appropriate sanctions where necessary and advice generally on modalities to curtail violations of human rights by troops.”

It is very laughable that the so-called committee on human rights which was meant exclusively for the North-East of Nigeria was suddenly given the mandate to operate elsewhere in Nigeria as a face-saving measure to divert the attention of the public and the ICC from the upcoming criminal prosecution of Lt-Gen Buratai, Muhammadu Buhari, Solomon Ehigiator Arase, and other accomplices to the massacre of defenceless Biafrans which started seven weeks after the swearing-in of Buhari as Nigeria’s president. Is it possible for General Olonisakin to point at any report in the public domain from any committee that was set up to probe any of the killings in Biafraland? In 2013, some committees were set up by the Senate and the NBA to investigate the mass murder of Biafrans and dumping of their bodies in Ezzu River but the committees‘ reports were never made public. Even former Governor Peter Obi’s Ezzu River Autopsy Report is still hidden in government house at Awka.

On the other hand, how can the military be investigating crimes committed by itself and expect to get useful outcomes, in addition to the fact that this committee is not headed by a reputable Judge but rather the committee is mainly an assortment of retired and retarded members of Nigerian military? How can a murderer investigate his own crime? This is another waste of public funds in a country where the average citizen lives on less than half-dollar in a day.

Instead of spending so much money on logistics and other related expenses on this committee, we STRONGLY advice the Defence Headquarters to use this money to hire a formidable defence attorney who will defend them at the upcoming court case at the ICC. Perhaps, the attorney may be able to reduce by a few years, the imminent long jail terms for Buratai et al. Therefore the public should not be deceived by the red-herring strategy of General Olonisakin and his cohorts because Buratai and his co-murderers are prison-bound irrespective of the so-called committee on human rights.

This committee is nothing but a deceit and a charade!!!

According to MTO, a 48 year old Atlanta man named Martin Blackwell is in a WORLD OF TROUBLE - police charged him with TWO counts of aggravated assault, and mau charge him with a hate crime.

What did he do? Well Martin lives with his longtime GF and his 21 year old "step" son Anthony Gooden. According to Martin, he has a rule in his house - he does not allow any GAY activity there. Anthony is openly gay.

Well Marquez Tolbert was sleeping over the apartment of Anthony, and Martin came in the room and poured scalding hit water on the couple. "Get out of my house with all that gay,” Blackwell allegedly said.

Marquez told WSB-TV that he is still in pain from second- and third-degree burns that required skin to be moved from his thigh to his back over 10 days in the hospital.

Anthony just got out of the hospital last week, and a GoFundMe page set up to pay for medical expenses said that at one point had been induced into a coma.

The page says that they were forced out of the apartment by Blackwell, and went door to door before eventually finding someone who would help them.

I’ll be merciless in pursuing looters, says Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday vowed that his administration would not show mercy to any person in its ongoing anti-corruption war.

He said his administration would pursue the anti-graft war relentlessly until Nigerians began to see how the nation’s elite conspired to run the country down.

According to a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina, the President spoke during an interactive session he had in Malabo with Nigerians resident in Equatorial Guinea.

Buhari assured the Nigerians that he would not entertain any fear in his quest to rid the nation of corruption by bringing those who compromised their positions to book.

“We will be merciless and relentless in pursuing all those who abused public trust. Nigerians will see how some of the elite conspired to run the nation down,” the President said.

He also condemned recent political violence in Rivers State, saying the killing of people over political differences was primitive, barbaric and unacceptable.

He promised to deal decisively with those responsible for the development.

“We will deal decisively with all sponsors of violence. I have given the security services clear directives in this regard.

“We will show that violence in any form will no longer be tolerated before, during or after elections,” he stated.

Buhari promised that the Independent National Electoral Commission would be encouraged to explore the possibility of Nigerians abroad participating in the 2019 general elections by casting their votes wherever they might reside.

He noted that some African countries had started allowing their citizens, resident abroad, to vote in national elections and Nigeria could not afford not to join them.

He identified with the desire of Nigerians in the Diaspora to vote in national elections, pledging that he would do all within his powers to fulfil that desire.

“I want all Nigerians to know that I respect them and their right to choose their leaders,” he said.

The President disclosed that establishing a new national airline was not currently on the Federal Government’s list of priorities.

He said his administration’s main area of focus was reducing the level of poverty.

Buhari said developing the infrastructure needed to boost production in all sectors of the economy and creating more jobs for young Nigerians, as well as other actions that would directly enhance the living conditions of ordinary Nigerians would continue to be prioritised by his administration.

He was responding to complaints by members of the Nigerian community about the absence of direct flights between Nigeria and Equatorial Guinea.
