Ouch WTH... Man bites off son’s ear for defending wife

There was confusion on Saturday in the Ebute Meta area of Lagos State after a truck loader, Udeme Inim, 30, allegedly bit off his stepson’s ear.
The incident happened around 11am on Asaka Street, off Abule-Nla Road, Ebute Meta West.
It was gathered that there had been a disagreement between Inim and his wife, which had led to the suspect assaulting her.
PUNCH Metro learnt that when the victim, Christopher Bassey, intervened, Inim left his wife and attacked him.
In the ensuing scuffle, Inim, an indigene of Akwa Ibom State, was said to have gone for the teenager’s right ear and bit it off.
Our correspondent was told that the victim was rushed to a hospital shortly after he reported the matter to the Iponri Police Station, but his ear could not be saved.
Our correspondent saw the ear in a transparent nylon after sighting the victim in the Ebute Meta area on Monday.
The affected part was bandaged.
He said, “On that day, he was fighting with my mum and at a point he began to destroy some of our property. It was too much for me to bear.
“So I tried to stop him and that was when he attacked me and bit off my ear.”
The police arraigned Inim before a Magistrate’s Court on one count of assault.
The police prosecutor, Cousin Adams, said the offence was punishable under Section 243 of the Criminal Law Vol. 44, Laws of Lagos State, Nigeria, 2011.
Inim said he was not guilty of the charge and elected summary trial.
The magistrate, Nurudeen Layeni, wondered why the defendant wore dirty clothes, asking if he was employed.
Inim said, “I am employed. I work with Cross Country Company as the manager. It was the police that gave me the clothes in their station; it is not my clothes.”
The Investigating Police Officer, Sergeant Dibia Godwin, told the court that Inim had entered the station stark naked.
He said, “He works as a loader with Cross Country. On that day, the victim had first come to the station to report; there was blood all over him, he had to be taken to the hospital.
“Shortly after, he (Inim) also rushed in. He was stark naked. He said he wanted to report the same matter and we wondered how he could say he wanted to make a report after disfiguring somebody’s ear. We had to get something to put on him.”
The defence counsel, Beauty Otighi, told the court the matter was a family affair, adding that the victim was the defendant’s stepson and that they lived in the same house.
“We want to apply for his bail in liberal terms pursuant to Section 115 (2) of the Administration of Criminal Justice Law of Lagos State, 2011 and also he’s to be presumed innocent based on Section 36 (5) of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria,” she added.
The magistrate admitted him to bail in the sum of N20, 000 with two sureties in like sum.
The case was adjourned till March 26, 2015.

NBA Legend Michael Jordan Now In Forbes Billionaires List

Wow! This is such a great news and also inspiring to other active sports men/women and aspiring ones! Michael Jordan is a living legend in the game of basketball... Read how Forbes explained his entering the exclusive billionaires list:
"The most famous rookie on the billionaires list? Michael Jordan, arguably the greatest basketball player of all time and indisputably the best-paid athlete of all time. Forbes first outed Jordan as a billionaire last June. Most of his cash comes from Nike payouts on his iconic brand. The Jordan brand grossed an estimated $2.25 billion in 2013, earning his Airness some $90 million. But his most valuable asset is his stake in the Charlotte Hornets, worth more than $500 million. When ex-Microsoft MSFT +0.07% CEO Steve Ballmer bought the Los Angeles Clippers for a stunning $2 billion, values of all NBA teams skyrocketed, creating three new billionaires. Jordan’s old boss Jerry Reinsdorf, owner of the Chicago Bulls, joined the list with a fortune of $1.3 billion, and Houston Rockets owner Leslie Alexander boosted his net worth to $1.6 billion."

Ghen.. Ghen... Tinubu threatens to sue AIT

Yes oo... the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Leader Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has threatened to sue the management of Daar Communications Limited, owners of the Africa Independent Television (AIT) for the defamatory content of a documentary aired on Sunday.
His counsel Mr. Tunji Abayomi has, through a letter delivered to Daar Communications yesterday afternoon, asked the organisation to apologise for the content and stop its airing.
The letter reads in part: “…You aired an hour-long documentary focussing on our client (Bola Tinubu). Clearly pre-occupied with political resentment and hatred neither warranted, necessary, proper, or justified, you published several false allegations against our client… More
disturbing is your misrepresentation that the said documentary was “sponsored” without disclosing the
“sponsors”. You cannot under law hide under media freedom to maliciously injure a citizen’s reputation”.
The letter also demanded N20 billion as cost of damage done to the reputation of Asiwaju Tinubu, failing which the client will sue the company.
“To affirm the right of our client against your defamatory publication, we demand that you confirm to us within 24 hours of receipt of this letter, an apology and retraction of the said publication/documentary,” the letter added.

Sad News! Seven-year-old killed, hundreds displaced in communal clash in Benue State

A seven-year-old girl was on Monday burnt to death just as hundreds of people were displaced after their houses were burnt down.
It was gathered that the deed was done by suspected Ihyarev youths at Baa-Ihyarev, after Abinsi town, along Gboko Road in the Guma Local Government Area of Benue State.
PUNCH Metro was told by the displaced people, who were mostly women, children and the aged, that the youths that burnt down the houses were sent by a prominent politician, who was a governorship candidate of a party in the state.
It was also gathered that the affected people were mostly Kparevs.
Our correspondent reports that smoke was billowing from houses that were razed down in the area. It was also observed that property and farm crops worth millions of naira were also razed.
It was also observed that selected houses belonging to the Kparevs were set ablaze while others that were supposedly owned by the Ihyarev people were left untouched.
An eyewitness told PUNCH Metro that the youths engaged the police that were drafted to the area in a shootout. It could, however, not be ascertained the number of casualties or people arrested as of press time.
Although PUNCH Metro could not readily get the name of the child that was burnt to death, the name of her father was given as Nyongucho Dzevev.
Another eyewitness, Ashebe Abayam, said, “For trying to save their belongings from the fire, the rampaging youths inflicted machete cuts on two of their victims, Bem Aondona and Terna Tyoule. They are receiving treatment at an undisclosed hospital in the area.”
Abayam explained that their attackers had started setting houses ablaze as early as 5am on Monday.
Tyowua Ibi, whose house and property were also razed, said he settled in the area in 1961, adding that there were others that settled in the area much earlier.
The Police Public Relations Officer for the state, Austin Ezeani, who confirmed the death of the girl, said the police had been drafted to the area to maintain peace.
The prominent politician in the area distanced himself from the carnage. He told our correspondent on the telephone that he was in Germany and had nothing to do with what had happened.

Tinubu would have been in jail by now – Fani-Kayode

Ahead of Nigeria's general elections, their has been heated accusations and counter accusation between the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the main opposition party All Progressive Congress (APC); the latest of such is that by PDP's election campaign image-maker, Femi Fani Kayode where he insinuated that APC leader Bola Tinubu ought to be in jail now.
According to Fani- Kayode, if Nigerians do not have short memories, the former  Lagos State Governor ought to be in jail, against the backdrop that he belongs there.
He said, “Whether the APC wishes me well or not, I shall live long and prosper. What they think about me is neither here nor there and I lose no sleep over it.  It is only what God thinks about me that matters and they are not God. They do not like me and I do not like them and that is fine by me.  We do not need to like each other and all we need to do is to meet in the field.
“I do not need their good wishes and neither do I crave their goodwill. Rather than continuously talking about me and making infantile and primitive statements, they should spend their time praying for the soul of the late and great PDP leader, Chief Funso Williams, who would have been governor of Lagos state, who was mysteriously murdered a few years ago by a group of evil, power-hungry and callous men, and who was a formidable political adversary of Tinubu.  We pray every day that God should avenge Funso Williams and bring those that killed him to justice.
“We suggest that the APC purge themselves of their obvious obsession with me and instead pray for the fortunes of their candidate, General Muhammadu Buhari because he is in trouble and he is surrounded by snakes and vampires.  They should pray that God will keep General Buhari safe from the enemy within.  The problem with the Tinubu wing of the APC is that they are so used to dishing out rubbish about other people that it has affected their minds and their ability to say anything reasonable or rational.
“The truth is that their leader, Tinubu belongs in a sanatorium for the mentally unbalanced and a maximum security prison for the power obsessed rather than in any political party.  As for the quisling and minion called Lai Mohammed I refuse to respond to him unless and until he starts talking sense, cures himself of his chronic bad breath and desists from wearing pampers.
“The only people that are caving in under pressure here are the APC, their presidential candidate, General Buhari and their de facto leader Tinubu.  The closer we get to March 28, the more they panic and the more falsehood and rubbish that they spew out.  As I have said before, they have become prisoners of their own delusions and fantasies and victims of their own hallucinations.  Tinubu, their de facto leader, should tell Nigerians why they should take him seriously after he was arrested on no less than two occasions by the American authorities for money laundering.
“On the first occasion, the arrest was in Chicago and, on the second occasion, he was arrested  in Seattle, Washington whilst he was Governor of Lagos state.
On both occasions he begged the authorities like a baby and was eventually forced to settle out of court with the American Justice Department by forfeiting a percentage of the money after a successful plea bargain. If not for that settlement and plea bargain, Tinubu would have been in an American jail by now. This is the man whose minions and acolytes like Lai Mohammed are now pontificating about national issues and throwing stones.
“The APC falsely accuse others of wrongdoing whilst there is ample evidence to show that their de facto leader Tinubu was once involved in laundering drug-related money in the United States of America.  What an irony that a man with such a filthy past has now managed to gain total control of Nigeria’s main opposition party.
“Tinubu  should count himself lucky that Nigerians have short memories and that he is not in jail because that is where he deserves to be. He should also prepare himself for the greatest humiliation and defeat of his political career because after March 28, his ambition of becoming de facto president of Nigeria will crumble before his very eyes and would have gone with the wind.” Culled

PUNCH Metro gathered that Lanre had gone to the ex-husband’s house on Amore Street, Olodi Apapa, to look for her son, one Victor. Victor was said to have been missing on the fateful day.
While searching through the compound, she was said to have shone the torch she was holding on the tenant, Mrs. Chinyere Onyekwere, who was reportedly sleeping on a mat outside.

Lanre reportedly went for a cutlass on the premises and hacked her in the jaw region.

A prosecutor, Olusoji Ojaokomo, arraigned her on Monday before the magistrate, P.A. Adekomaya, on two counts bordering on assault and conduct likely to cause breach of the peace.
The charges read, “That you, Okah Lanre, 48, on February 6, 2015, at about 10.10pm, on Amore Street ,Olodi Apapa, in the Apapa Magisterial District, did unlawfully conduct yourself in a manner likely to cause breach of peace by entering into the compound of one Chinyere Onyekwere and thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 166 (I) (D) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2011.
“That you, Okah Lanre, on the same date, time and place, in the aforesaid magisterial district, did unlawfully assault one Chinyere Onyekwere with a cutlass which caused her harm on her lower jaw and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 171 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2011.”
The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the offences.
Adekomaya granted her bail in the sum of N30,000 with two sureties in like sum.

Tragedy struck in the Noforija, Epe area of Lagos State after a robbery gang stabbed to death a hotel manager, Oduwobi Olalekan.
The incident happened on Wednesday around 10pm in the 12/30 Hotel where the 40-year-old was a manager.
It was learnt that the hotel is owned by a government official in the state.
Our correspondent learnt from an eyewitness and a resident, Semiu Abiodun, that the robbers had sneaked into the community without being seen by security men.
PUNCH Metro gathered that the hotel had an extension, which shared a fence with a building where Abiodun lived.
The robbers were said to have hidden in the extension, which was still under construction.
Abiodun said, “I was watching television that night when I heard a noise as one of the robbers jumped from the extension into our building. There was a power outage, but my generator was on and my outside bulb was working, so I could see clearly.
“Then I watched as he sliced my net. At that point, I shouted on him, and he jumped back into the extension where I believe the rest of his colleagues were hiding.
“I ran out and raised the alarm and people joined me to shout and wake up those who might be sleeping.”
It was learnt that the robbers began hauling granite at the residents while they ploted their escape.
Abiodun said he went to the front of the hotel to inform and warn the hotel manager against the presence of robbers.
“The hotel manager immediately went to the back of the hotel, while I went to a second street to mobilise more people.
“After a while, as I was standing on the street, one of the robbers walked past me and I couldn’t say anything for fear that he would attack me.
“But after he passed, I shouted, ‘thief, thief, thief’ and he began to run,” he added.
The fleeing suspect, who had blood stains on his clothes, was said to have been apprehended.
He was reportedly found with a gun, and handed over to policemen from the Epe division.
Upon interrogation, he was said to have led the police to the hideout of three other suspects.
The four men were identified as Rasak Babatunde, Abomeji Seun, Anthony Gbagbo and Tacqui Habbila.
PUNCH Metro learnt that Olalekan’s whereabouts was initially unknown and residents began looking for him that night.
He was later found dead at the back of the hotel, where the robbers had attacked him.
“He was stabbed in different parts of his body and abandoned there. He was killed so that he would not expose the robbers,” a source said.
On Saturday, our correspondent learnt that the family of the late Ijebu Igbo, Ogun State indigene, took his remains to his hometown where he was buried.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Kenneth Nwosu, confirmed the incident.
He said, “The man was the manager of the 12/30 Hotel. Five persons stormed the place and shot him. He was rushed to the hospital and he died on the way. Four persons have been arrested in connection with the case. We recovered a pistol from the suspects. The matter has been transferred to the State Criminal investigation Department, Yaba.”

Wow! 16-yrs-old boy rapes 52-yrs-old woman!

Na wa oo... nothing person no go hear this days... na so konji hold this teenage boy reach? infact konji is a bastard :( .... According to this reports below:
"A first look at Abdulateef (surname withheld) would give the impression of a young innocent boy who would not hurt a fly. Ordinarily, the fragile-looking 16-year-old SSS1 student looked odd to be a suspect undergoing interrogation at the anti-robbery section of the Department of Criminal Investigation, Ogun State Police Command. But the allegations against him are so weighty.
Crime Reports gathered that Abdulateef was arrested on January 18, 2015 at Lambe area of Ajuwon, Ogun State after he allegedly entered the residence of a 52-year-old neighbour in the dead of the night, dispossessed her of the sum of N16,500 and went ahead to rape her, not minding the age difference between them.
The neighbour (names withheld), whose husband  works as a civil servant in a South West state, was said to be sleeping in her room when Abdulateef entered her residence at about 1.40a.m.  The suspect met the woman spread on her bed, naked. Holding a rod that he had as a weapon, he was reported to have tapped the elderly woman awake, demanding for valuables.
The invader was said to have sent shivers down the spine of the woman by telling her that other gang members were outside, and it would be in her own interest if she cooperated, or she would be dealt with. The woman quickly handed over the N16,500 she had with her and prayed inwardly that the boy would leave her alone.
But she was shocked when the intruder commanded that she lay on her bed and spread her legs for him, as he wanted to have a good time with her. Conscious of the threat of other members laying siege, the elderly woman quickly complied and the boy had his way.
After satisfying himself, the boy went out, happy with a mission accomplished and the fact that his elderly neighbour did not see his face. But unknown to him, the woman recognized him as his neighbour’s teenage son, though it was dark.
At day break, she put a call through to her husband to inform him of her experience. The husband was reported to have travelled down to his community and went to Ajuwon police station to report a case of robbery and rape. When interrogated, the teenager confessed his deeds and was promptly transferred to the Department of Criminal Investigation, Eleweran, Abeokuta, for further interrogation.
Speaking with Crime Reports, Abdulateef blamed ‘evil spirit’ for his crime. In his explanation, he said: “I am in SSS 1 at a high school in Ogun State. I live at Lambe area, Ajuwon with my parents. I am the first born and I have three younger ones. On January 18, 2015, at about 1a.m., I went to my neighbour’s house to rob and rape. I never knew she recognised me. I have never carried out robbery before that day. I don’t know made me do it but I believe I was propelled by an evil spirit.”
When asked how he gained entry into the victim’s house, Asamu narrated his escapade thus: “I entered through the main door which was usually not locked. The residence was uncompleted. I met the woman sleeping. She was naked as she slept and the sight aroused me. I woke her up and asked her to bring all the money she had. I was holding a rod and I told her that my other gang members were outside, threatening her to cooperate or she would be dealt with.
“She handed over N16,500 to me, after which I ordered to lie on the bed. I climbed her and had sex with her. After about five minutes, I stood up and left for my house”.
The suspect said he started having sexual intercourse in 2014 with a girl who was his age and lived in the neighbourhood. But he said the girl’s family had moved out of the community.
Speaking on the events that followed his action, the teenager said “on the third day, the woman’s husband called me and warned me not to pass through his compound again as he wanted to sprinkle charms around his compound. I later saw policemen who were brought to arrest me.
“I confessed to my parents. I used N5,000 to buy a phone but it was not good so I returned it. I used the remaining to eat and entertain friends.”
The story was confirmed by the Police Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, who said that the suspect would be charged to court when judicial workers resume from their strike action."

Oh God! Wicked Stepmum ties 2-yr-old girl for soiling herself

What exactly is this world of ours turning into? How wicked can one be even to a 2-yrs-old baby? Read below...
"LOOKING at the picture of two-year-old Lovelyn William will elicit tears from the heart of any human being. Naked, with her mouth tapered, hands tied backwards and legs tied together, she lay on the floor of a room at Itori in Ogun State.
It was her stepmother, 28-year-old Christiana Faturoti, who allegedly threw her there as a punishment because she soiled herself. After putting the child in the room, she padlocked it and left for her workplace.
For over two hours on February 17, the little girl, who turned two on February 15, 2015, groaned and moaned, until a neighbour heard the sound and traced it to an unoccupied room which was padlocked. After peeping and seeing the girl in such a condition, the neighbour quickly alerted the police at Itori police station. Christiana was promptly arrested and is currently undergoing interrogation at the Anti-Human Trafficking section of the Department of Criminal Investigation, Ogun State Police Command.
Lovelyn’s mother was reported to have developed baby blues (mental illness) after birth and is currently at a psychiatric hospital where she is undergoing treatment. Crime Reports learnt that the child’s father, Mr Christopher William, met Christiana on the facebook, after which they started a relationship.
Willam (37), from Abia State who spoke with Crime Reports, said: “Christiana posted a notice on facebook that a single lady from Osun State, a mother of one, needed a husband. I called the number and asked that we meet.
“I sent her N5,000 as transport fare to Lagos State and she came in February 2013. She slept in my place and left the following day. We lost contact for about two months. Later, she called me that she was pregnant and I told her to come over to Lagos. We went to my mother in Abia State in June and spent about a week there.
“In October 2013, I told Christiana to move in with me until she would deliver her baby, after which we would go to her family for marriage formalisation. To my surprise, she refused, saying that she had to get the consent of her friend, Dekola Elizabeth. She later called and said her friend disagreed with my suggestion.
“When she put to bed on December 5, 2013 and I was informed, I still repeated my suggestion but she refused. I said we would hold the naming ceremony when the baby would be three months according to my culture but she named the baby herself on the seventh day.
“All these led to a disagreement for a while until I called her for settlement again and I promised to be visiting. In November 2014, she said she wanted to see my daughter. Then my daughter, Lovelyn, was with a care giver whom I was paying N12,000 per month. She suggested that she take the little girl to stay with her along with her son. That was same November.
“I agreed with the idea and she took my daughter.
“Any time I went there, the friend would not allow me to sleep over. She would be looking at her watch, telling me it was time to leave. If I desired to have private discussion with Christiana, she would ask me to say everything in the presence of her friend.
“My daughter was two years old on February 15, so on February 14, I called her that we should celebrate Valentine’s Day together so that the following day, we could mark my daughter’s birthday but she said no, she had a church programme. On February 15, I was at Christiana’s place.
“I noticed that my baby was wearing two dresses. I removed the dresses and saw whip marks on my daughter’s body. I also saw another mark on her face and noticed that her eyes were bloodshot. On enquiries, Christiana said my daughter got the marks from school.
“I called her friend’s attention to it but her response was ‘That is your business’. I made up my mind to go with my daughter but Christiana said she would put her in her own class in school. I gave her N5,000 and said I would be back on Wednesday.
Christiana
“I was surprised when I received a call on February 17 from Itori police station. When I got there, I was shown my daughter’s picture and I started weeping. I enquiries on what I did to warrant the treatment and I was told she said I loved the girl more than her son.”
Christopher said the lady’s family had been begging her but said his relationship with her was over. “If she could do this to my daughter, it means my life is in danger too.”
Christiana, from Imesi-Ile, Osun State, told Crime Reports that “the girl did not offend me but I was not happy at the way Christopher neglected me and the baby I had for him, and concentrated on his daughter.
“I met Christopher on facebook in December 2012. He told me he had a child but was single. I also told him I was a single mother of one. He proposed a relationship and I went to Lagos State to see him. When I got pregnant, I went to his parents in Abia State. On our return, I asked him to accompany me to my parents’ but he said he was not ready to go, telling me to pack into his house. I refused and he stopped coming to me.
“After delivery, I called him and he came with N5,000, diapers and clothes. He did not come for the naming ceremony; I named the child myself.
“In September, 2014, he called to apologise and said he would start performing his responsibility. In October, he said his daughter’s care giver had travelled and his relations were using the girl to extort money from him. He said I should get an accommodation for him so that he would move close to me. Christopher started coming regularly and would bring provisions.
“It is true I beat the girl which left marks on her. She soiled herself and I was angry with her. On February 17, she soiled herself again, so I tied her hands and legs, tapered her mouth and threw her inside the room the father paid for, though yet to move in. I padlocked the room and left for my workplace at about 7a.m. I just wanted to punish her.”
When asked to describe her action, Christiana replied: “Wicked”.
Christiana’s friend, Diekola Elizabeth from Eruwa, Oyo State (27), who was also arrested, told Crime Reports that “I didn’t know about what Christiana did to Lovelyn. I was not a party to it, though I also beat her once when she soiled herself.
“It is true that Christopher pointed my attention to the marks on the child’s body and said that he wanted to go with her, but I replied that the choice was his because it was none of my business.”
Reacting to the story, the police image maker in Ogun state Police Command, DSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, described the suspect’s act as inhuman. “The Commissioner of Police, Valentine Ntomchukwu, has ordered a thorough investigation of the case, after which the suspect(s) will be charged to court,” he stated.
